The Cigar Oasis Excel Short Refill Cartridge fits Cigar Oasis Excel or XL units. Each cartridge contains a foam core element treated with a mold retardant antifungal agent combined with distilled water for optimal cigar preservation. This cartridge connects directly to the Cigar Oasis Excel control unit. The control unit fan extracts air from inside the humidor and passes it through the cartridge which humidifies the air with moisture. The Cigar Oasis unit then releases the moisturized air back into the humidor which is then absorbed by the cigars. The amount of time water is consumed will depend on the dimensions of the humidor, how well the humidor is sealed, and the condition of your cigars. Normally, in a cigar humidor containing 75-125 cigars the short refill water cartridge could last between 5 - 7 months. When the Cigar Oasis cartridge is low, it can be refilled with distilled water once or twice before the foam within the cartridge begins to break down. Over time this foam core will begin to hold less water. In time, the antifungal agent will deplete as well. We suggest replacing the water cartridge from time to time for optimum performance.
